To Whom It May Concern
My wife and I recently purchased a Beneteau Oceanis 400 yacht a 1995 model.
The vessel is basically sound but required a lot of TLC.
The major problem was the serious exterior cracking in the perspec on the lumar hatches (5) - fixed skylight windows (3) and opening port light windows (10).
We were informed by the Broker when we puchased the vessel that this type of problem was easily repaired. This was not the case. We contacted several companies in the Brisbane area and we were informed they would only consider the job if we removed the hatches and port light windows from the vessel ready for them to repair. The estimate costs for the repairs were unbelievable. Plus we would have had all the effort and inconvenience to remove and refit the hatches etc.
Our solution came when Justin Waller commenced a new business "The Hatchman". To repair the Hatches and windows Justin split the hinges on the hatches and the port light windows and took them away for repair. He replaced the Perspex, stripped, repaired and rebuilt the hatches opening tensioners. Replaced the o'rings on the hatches and port light closing lugs. He replaced the perspex in the fixed skylights and resealed them.
When the work was completed he thoroughly water tested all the hatches, port lights and skylights.
We were extremely pleased with Justin's workmanship, attention to detail and his overall general care of our vessel. We gladly recommend justin for this type of work.
Yours faithfully
Gaynor and Arthur Vinton. Cleveland.
